Low Idle in Drive Gear
 

Car: '90 GS Sedan B18a1

My problem has been happening over the past year. I find my car consistently idling low causing my Teg to vibrate. It only does this at lights (in Drive...sorry, it's automatic). While in park, idle is fine, while driving, no spurts or loss of RPMs. I have recently replaced my distributor (including burnt out coil) and have also replaced plugs'n'wires.

This is really annoying, can anybody provide some suggestions on getting this fixed? :confused: Thanks in advance TI!

thats used to happen to me too, after i did a tune up it went away

plugs, wires, air filter, PCV valve, fuel filter, cap n rotor.

Thanks TwoSix, PCV & fuel filter are the only thing i haven't got around to...will replacing those make a big difference? Cheap enough so I will do it anyway, just wondering.

well it depends, when was the last time your fuel filter was changed, and how much milage was it at the last time it was replaced? i bought my car @ 140 000 and the guy didnt know what a fuel filter was..so i changed it and i noticed a difference, the after changing the PCV valve, i got better gas milage/

if those dont work, try resetting you ECU, you can diconnect the battery, or there are two fuses in the top left hand corner in the fuse box under your hood, this will reset your car in a way and let it learn everything all over again.

EDIT: oh crap, i jus noticed u have a 1st gen, i'm not sure where the fuses would be on u'r car, do a search on google, or disconnecting the battery should work too.

Bought mine at 188,000 kms and my guy didn't know when last he changed his. That should have been something I changed when i bought it but, didn't! I'm now at 212,000 kms so I'm guessing either way, a change is overdue.

I thought 90-93 are Gen2's??? So this whole time i was playin' myself! LOL. :)
I' m gonna do the battery reset and see where it gets me...thanks again!

oh lol, sry i duno wut i was thinkin..u'r right its a 2nd gen, there a site jus for gen 2's they should have an article on which fuses to pull search it on google
