a lil help plz
recently bought a Jdm B16 head and im not shure if its to be concidered as an sir head or a 1st gen GSR ? the casting number is (PR3-1) thanks :)
|
From what Im told, the casting number are the generations. PR3-1 is first gen so im guessing B16A1. i have also heard that the code is for a OBD reference.
i think its pr3-1=obd0 pr3-2= obd1 pr3-3= obd3 and so on |
but is it a GSR or SIR head ?
|
Im thinkin its a Xri GSR head
|
all I know is the date on the block is in early 90's
|
no... its a b16a head. pr3 was the casting numbers for the 1st gen b16 heads. And your head is obd1 or obd0. Chances are obd1

Just checked the head on my b16a2 it says PR3-3. and it's OBD2.
I believe the PR3-1 is the b16a head with OBD-0. (not b16a1) |

I believe the PR3-1 is the b16a head with OBD-0. (not b16a1) So you have an OBD0 B16a head. Came out of the 1988-1991 civic ef9 and the 1990-1991 Integra da9 |

|
if you see a black da with the whole back end primer, thats me.
both those ecu's are obd1. the only big difference is the p28 is stock for a 1.6 and the p06 is 1.5. the p28 is vtec p06 non vtec. |
forgot to mention that the p06 is chipped . is it pretty much the same then ?
|
Both will be the same for your use. Both will need to be chipped and have software for whatever motor you will be running [assuming the b16a]
And seems like i came on here slightly too late, i could have told you its b16a obd0....i have the same head in my garage :P |
yeah im gonna be running a b16a head on a b18b block .ill bring the ecu tonight and get u guys to look at it , make shure it'll be good . the guy I bought it from said it'll work the same as p28 . coming with the eg today ?
