knocking/tapping from front drivers side
suspension woes --- again........ i swear i didn't cheap out the second time around!
Anyways, there's a slight knocking or tapping sound coming out of the front drivers side area. I jacked up the car and everything seemed to be tight - none of the boots are ripped or torn, it's all dry. Whenever I drive on uneven surfaces I hear it and it's alot more evident when making a right turn. All the screws and nuts are in place and tight, cotter pins are all there and in place. I also tried to wiggle the steering wheel around (when the car was on stands) to see if that was causing any noise but nothing. Shock is dry, no fluids - the noise is there whether the shock is turned to firm or soft. I only started noticing this very recently and I want to troubleshoot this issue before a major one arises. Oh and the last problem I had is going to be fixed tomorrow at Gilman's.:yeah: |
Constant Velocity Shaft?? I have to replace mine but ---- it.. im going on vacation. Drive at Highway speeds and see if that make it jerk to one side. Mine does that and it's ------ scary... It makes the wifey scream.

Yeah, I'll inspect the CV shaft on both sides - why does yours have to be replaced? I didn't know the CV shafts are a wear and tear replacement part.

issue resolved - the swaying car issue was resolved with an alignment. the knocking/tapping issue was resolved by cleaning and spraying the shock tophat/mount point with some wd-40
