JDM SRS Steering Wheel Install?

Sup guys,

I just got myself a jdm srs steering wheel and was wondering if anyone has installed on of these before. I'm a lil' nervous putting it in because of the airbag and all and was wondering if anyone had a step by step kind of installation to help me out...i really don't want to screw things up.

Anyone know how to hook up the horn as well?

Thanks in advance.

I've installed it myself. Follow the helms procudure for removal of the airbag. Basically you disconnect the battery, and don't start the procedure for at least 3 minutes. Remove the old wheel by removing the panels on the back of the old wheel, then remove the 2 torx bolts holding the airbag. Unplug the SRS reel, the horn and cruise control, and You will need a big 19mm socket to remove the nut holding the steering wheel.

If you have a 98+ car, the connectors for the new airbag are the same as on the SRS reel, if not, you have to swap the connectors. Installation is the reverse. Do not re connect the battery at anytime until you are finished, or you will throw an SRS code.

thanks for the tip. i'm gonna try the install myself this weekend. I have the Haynes Repair manual and it pretty much states what you had said. So hopefully all goes well.

I'm even gonna disconnect the battery overnight!

Another tip, ditch the Haynes, get a Helms. Haynes just has too many errors, and its not detailed enough. You can find a Helms online if you search hard enough ;)

Funny thing is he's a premier

Is there an OEM JDM Momo steering wheel for the DC2 that has the cruise control buttons?

Damn...i guess being a premier pays off! I searched hard, thanks Bob and Wayne
