installing type r replica spoiler
so im gonna be painting my type r spoiler soon and installing it... now i know theres going to be holes left over which i need to cover... thats fine i have figured out how i will cover the holes and get that done and fixed up...
my question is my OEM spoiler right now only is being held on by 3 bolts... theres two on the driver side which is normal... and only one on the passenger side... for some reason the one looks like it was broken off? by who i have no idea why... i do remember something that my acura records show broken spoiler on it... so maybe thats what it was... when installing the type r spoiler i was told to reuse the screws/studs (not sure if thats the correct term) that are in the oem spoiler... am i supposed to just use pliers and pull them out of the OEM spoiler?? if thats the case i would still need to go buy an extra screw/washer for the 4th hole that i am missing the bolt from? and how hard is it to remove the broken stud in the spoiler right now...?? cuz i want to resell this spoiler so i'd like to get it out so the next person wouldnt have the trouble... thanks |
The studs are part of the spoiler. mine is missing a stud on one side. 75% is still passing. :) I wouldn't worry about the missing stud on the spoiler, as you probably can't get more than $50 for a used gsr (oem with 3rd brake light) spoiler anyway...

yeah my type r replica spoiler never came with studs... i guess thats what you get when you go with a replica... i am gonna just mount it with screws and washers that fit the predrilled holes on it...
yeah 3 bolts has held my spoiler on for years as far as i know so its still good :) ill just sell it as is when i do sell it... |
