Default How to remove AC?

okay, i havnt had a working AC in like 2 years. i just installed my Exhaust system, and we had to remove the non working AC compressor to fit the headers in. so now i have a bunch of left over wires and so on in my car. pretty much dead weight. I want to clean my engine bay, but also want to remove my AC wires. Any good docs on how to do it?

its easy work, first disconnect all the AC lines, pull out all the lines that as easily unboltable. Then unbolt the A/C rad fan and A/C rad, take those out, then lastly go for the compressor. I've done it a couple times took me an hour each time. If you need any help takin it off lemme kno.

You also need to remove the A/C button.

Basically, it's the reverse of installation.

why remove the a/c system? just leave it in there.......if you ever go to resell the car a/c adds so much value to the car. with a non-working or missing a/c system you will have a very hard time selling the car..

I wouldnt ever sell my car. i love my car too much to want to sell it. the only way im going to part away from my car is because it gets destroyed. plus i want to eventually track my car. dead weight isnt good.

i said the same thing when i was 20 years old. i removed all the lines/compresor/condensor. big mistake.

couple year lsater i ended up buying a whole used a/c system to put back in. the humidity gets to you more as you get older.

imagine trying to go to a wedding or some formal gathering in the middle of the summer in a nice suit and you are sweating you nuts off.......not so cool.....plus if you plan to have a g/f and no a/c in the car.......haha.....imagine the bitching and complaining.

its your choise. i would leave the system in the car even if it does not work.

In the past two years, three of my friends have installed A/C for this very reason.

hmm. thats true. my ex did complain quite a bit about the heat. but my headers are too big that they get in the way of my AC compressor.

there's also swapping the evaporator box for a heater duct and the plug on the firewall for the lines if you want to do it right.
