How do I disable my antenna motor?

Ever since I've purchased my car, my antenna grinds and stops half way whenever I try to use the radio.

Luckily, when I purchased my clarion deck, I was able to leave my deck settings to iPod, CD/DVD, Sirius Satellite Radio.

Once and a while, while changing cd's, the antenna still tries to kick in and makes that powered can-opener sound and it drives me nuts.

Anyways, I've been trying to find out how to disable it and I came across a very subtle article in the team-integra.net forums.

I'm assuming this wire is within the rear panels, located in the trunk, otherwise known as the tailight bulb access panels?

I'm going to attempt to cut the green/yellow wire, if I can find it.

If anyone has any pointers, please let me know.

Thanks,

If you really want, you can make a switch for it and make it so that your antenna only goes up when you want it to.

You can also get an S2000 antenna (Sharkie antenna), they look better, or just take out the antenna period and plug it up with the Honda delete kit.

Also, if you read that DIY, you can cut it pretty much anywhere the wire runs. So as it says, at the back of the deck , drivers side where the wire runs. As long as you see that wire, you can cut it where ever and put the switch

you can cut it no problem lol thats proabably the easiest way to get it to stop.

pull the plug

There is a wire behind the deck that sends a signal. Just disconnect it there. Don't cut OEM harness.
Or as stated above pull and plug.

easiest way to go i'd say is to pull the plug.. but if u still want ur antenna to work i say that vida's sharkie idea is a good way to go as well
