Hit a curb pretty hard.

Hey guys. Well i did some damage to my car this morning. In the slippary weather i was going maybe 40 and instead of going around a corner my car decided to go right into the curb at about 20-30km/h. I thought i escaped with just a scuffed lip and rim and in need of an alignment...I was wrong. I just noticed that the passenger wheel has actually been pusehd back maybe an inch from where it should be. Did i bend a control arm. Please help i need to get this fixed asap!

Platinum Playa 10-10-2005 04:09 PM

prolly bent the lower control arm or even the knuckle.

born2board69 10-10-2005 04:11 PM

how much am i looking to replace this?
And is it dangerous to drive with it like this

Platinum Playa 10-10-2005 04:33 PM

well u have to know for sure what it is, could be more damage from what you can see. If its just LCA the part on forums goes for about 80-100 bucks. installation maybe 60-80 bucks from a shop.

If its a knuckle, might be a lil harder to find i don't see these to often on the forums.
Either a LCA or a knuckle will prolly have to be purchased in pairs. You usually dont see them individually so you'll have to buy both.

Try junk yards and roam the forums. if its LCA that is damaged i have a pair.
those prices i've mentioned are for DC's i'm not sure about DA prices depending on what you drive.

You should know if its safe or not to drive with ur car all wobbly and ting.

Alright man. Im going to take my car into the auto shop at school put it on a hoist and see wahts the deal. I do drive a DC. And onen last question. Would the LCA's off a 92-95 civic be the same. And if i cant find some by tommorow evening. Could i arrange to get yours?

Platinum Playa 10-10-2005 05:01 PM

hmm i'm not sure of the 92-95 LCA are the same, i'm guessing yes but i' not 100% sure. Id you cant find any we can make an arrangement but on the pair i have there are no bushings for the bolt that connects to the sub frame.

born2board69 10-10-2005 05:04 PM

Can i take the bushing out of my old assembly or is it a 1 time use thing?

WildoutWhiteGSR 10-10-2005 05:29 PM

You won't be able to get them out without damaging the bushings.

My bushings in my lower control arms are on there way out as well. Soon I hope to upgrade all the front bushings to energy suspension ones. Shoudn't cost no more than $150 shipped.

Find out what's bent/wrong with it first though.

born2board69 10-10-2005 05:33 PM

Well i guess i will see tommorow , but im definatly going to go with a stokc replacment bushing. Timing is not on my side as i am VERY low on money right now.

WildoutWhiteGSR 10-10-2005 05:36 PM

in order to get new oem bushings, your gonna have to buy the lower control arm brand new.

born2board69 10-10-2005 05:39 PM

----.

born2board69 10-10-2005 06:25 PM

Well i found out i can use the front lca off a 92-95 civic. From what i have read its most likeyl going to be the LCa

Buff4Prez Yo 10-10-2005 08:58 PM

holy ---- dude....hopefully its the LCA and not the mount to the chassis. Use www.car-part.com to find the parts. You and Brett Lately have had bad luck....i'm hope i'm not next cuz i'm flat broke

Hybrid_Hatch 10-12-2005 07:51 AM

I had a spare front passenger lower control arm if you need one. PM me for it.
