HID Problem -Video-
All explained in the video. Also the highbeam light on the cluster looks like its on. but it isnt. only when the lights flicker, the hi beams are one
Please help. View My Video |
I suspect its to due w/ DRL. Does anyone know where the DRL Fuse is in 90-92 Integras?
This car uses a 9004 bulb for both hi/low beam. DRL uses high beam at a lower voltage (around 8V) I have suggested to either pull the DRL fuse, or we could get a Relay harness to supply the HID kit a constant 12V needed when DRL is running daytime. E-Brake is assosiated w/ Parking light as well. Which I suspect is the culprit. Can anyone else confirm this who has HID hi/low kit on a DA??? |
If it's happening when you switch it to hi-beam odds are good your ballast is not high beam capable. I understand they sell lo-beam kits and hi/lo-beam kits.. you're prob just pumping too much juice to the ballast and it's not supposed to run it thus it shuts off to protect itself.
|
single beam, hi/low and even bi-xenon kits all use the same 35W ballast.
same w/ the 55W kits. |
It's a shitty, cheap hid kit.
Prolumen Galaxy hid kits may cost more, but I've never had any problems like that. The digital ballasts will not allow the highbeams to cut out the lows. |

Suggestion has been made to either put a relay, or to pull the DRL fuse. Non of which have been follwed. The product itself is not shitty. Yes, deffinately cheap to manufacture. But for the price you pay you get more than your moneys worth. 4 yrs and going single kit in the fogs of my dad's 2000 Audi A4. On the "Cheap" $80 HID kit. The Digital kits have their cons as well. Don't get me started on them! |
just ordered a set of 10000k bulbs
|
People, If you have nothin to say that would contribute to my thread, please...
---- off. |
fair enough

I dont really care, its just that spike is gona have to come in this thread and delete all the useless posts. when he worked a long day at work. Its just not nice
|
just pull out the DRL fuse. its under the dash in the fuse box. try it then.
|
yeah thats what i told him but he dosnt know which one it is i started looking in the helms for him but got sidetracked you know which one it is?
|
I dont know which one it is uner the dash. It doesnt specify

There are "Hid" kits that have a 2nd "high beam" bulb that will fit into a halogen dual filament system. Supposedly it will work.
This question comes up all the time on Hidplanet.com. I don't really pay attention though, so do a search. |

Again, I am very honest and have nothing to hide! I make very little on these kits after shipping fee's and brokerage/taxes. Please also keep in mind the time I put in to bringing these kits in, ie. Ordering, customs, dealing w/ brokers and then meeting up and delivering product. I do all the work involved in getting these kits here hassel free, and just call my buyers to pick up the product!!

Can anyone else confirm this who has HID hi/low kit on a DA??? to disable the DRLs you'll have to remove the passenger kick panel and unplug one of the 2 harnesses from the module. i don't remember which one though. have you checked your wiring on the hids? you might have the wires swapped around. you gotta remember that many cases the 9007 kits double as the 9004 kits. if you compare the two halogen bulbs the only difference you'll see is filaments. one runs horizontal and the other runs vertical. what you dont see is the positive pins are swapped. the centre pin is the ground and the outers are the positive. the lo beam on the 9004 is the hi beam on the 9007 and vice versa. try disabling your drls and swappping the wires around at the ballast. if the dash light is dim when you're low beams are and the car is a 90 there's a crossed wire somewhere. |
I dont know how to disable the drls. Ive tried to find it.
|
i just posted how to do it. it's behind the passenger kick panel. open the passenger door and pull off the panel thats between the floor and the bottom of the dash
|
ok ill check it out again

not all DA's have the same DRL system. the 90 is the odd ball set up. in the 90, when you drop the ebrake all exterior lights turn on as if you were to turn on your lights like you normally would. turning the lights on after you drop your ebrake only turns on the lights in the dash and the cluster. don't know why is like this but as far as i know, in 1990 cars started coming with DRL's but weren't mandatory till 91. i think honda just slapped together an easy solution for that year to buy them some time for a proper system.

Anythony, try this out! Buff knows his stuff! |
Im going to try it, I just havnt had time to look again for the drl. Im still going to get the relay.
|
