ok guys so im a lil annoyed with my car cause this problem came out of the blue this morning.

so heres wat happened, at around 7am today i drove my sister to work but i had a lot of trouble getting the car into gear and shifting gears. getting it into first was a mission and a half it required like 10 seconds of really hard pushing, so i started in 2nd if 1st took too long but even then it required some force. this continued for about 30 minutes then it was okay.

then i took the car out again like 4 hours later but this time it only lasted for about 5 mintues then it drove fine.

i've been reading up on some other car forums about this but everyones answers seem to not work. i tried like pumping the clutch like 5 times b4 shifting but doesnt do anything really, hmm and when i do shift gears while the car isnt shifting properly the whole car rumbles, im convinced the car just needs some tranny fluid any ideas?

I would check your clutch master fluid first to see if it's low, and then check your tranny, and if those are both good, your tranny mite be on it's way out.

yeah it almost sounds like a master and/or slave cyl. except then the difficulty shifting should be constant.... not go away after a few minutes.

i would be more inclined to say it sounds like the clutch isn't being disengaged properly.... could be a problem with the clutch.

are there any other symptoms? such as, does the clutch pedal stay down when you press it? do you feel the clutch slipping at all?

check clutch fluid level and tranny fluid, check your slave and master cylinder for damage or leaks. if all those are fine then it is either your tranny is starting to lose it, or your clutch is breaking up.....

Ya I'm gonna buy all those fluids and add some. nah the clutch feels the same all the time. But ya it does feel easier to shift after a while

Hmm tried driving it This morning, same thing but I also noticed when I tried to throw it in reverse it grinds, so what I did was turn off the car, put it into reverse then go. After the car was moving it would shift gears but with some force still

ok so the problem is fixed. i had my brother look at the car he opened up the brake fluid. it was compeltely dry not a drop of anything in there. went to crappy tire bought some dot 4 brake fluid and added it in there. now the car runs perfectly. thanks guys for the help!
