Help! Water in Trunk! 94+ Integra RS.

hey. i've got a DC, RS model, NO SUNROOF.

well, it's been raining the past 2 weeks, and wtf, i've got a friggin' pond in my spare tire compartment. and it leaks to my backseats! first time it's happened.

checked the tail-light seals. it's oem foam and seems to be in good condition. it doesn't seem to be wet or moist either.

there's no sunroof too.

any other ideas as to where else to check?
i'm gonna take apart all the rear int. panels 2morro to look into it more.

I had water in the trunk of my winter beater CRX that I traced down to a leaky trunk lid seal. It was where the roof met with the hatch lid.

Hey, I have the exact same problem, can't seem to figure it out. not only is my rear seats are wet, but now my floor are wet too. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks in advance

to start! park your car under something so water cant get all over it. 2. dont drive in the rain untill you find your problem. 3. sell it to some sucker and buy another one without the problem.

I had the same problem. There are a couple ways to fix it.
1. Take out your spare and drill 1 hole for the water to drain....duh!
2. It is probably your tailights or trunk weatherstriping. What I did was that I took all of the tail lights out, got industrial silicone (the one they use for raingutters) put a bead around where the tail light meets the gasket, put the gasket on then let it dry. Then I put another bead on the sheet metal of the car where the gasket meets the metal and then pressed the tail light on and tightened it on. That fixed it. As for the trunk gasket, take it out, clean it all up and put weather striping adhesive then put it back on if its in good condition. Hope this helps.

hmm. gonna do that for sure. just gotta make sure i don't drill into the gas tank, like that guy in torontocivics did!

2morro i'm gonna garage it, w/ all the int. panels out, and have my dad pour water w/ a watering can all over the backend. let u guys know how it turns out.

if it's a Gen 3 there's a drain plug at the bottom of the spare tire well.

Mines be out for ages

i'll give u a smack in the cheek in front of your girlfriend boyyee.

i put silicone around the hatch/trunk weatherstripping. not quite sure if i wanna seal it around the foam tail-light seal to the metal, but will do if the leak's not fixed.

WildoutWhiteGSR 02-06-2006 08:45 AM

what I would do instead of the silicon is buy another set of gaskets and double up on them.

If my one on the car is in crappy condition then, buy two brand new gaskets and double up on those.

azntegra2 02-06-2006 06:52 PM

Just wondering, if anyone can advise me where i can pick up a new gasket and for how much. Thanks again.

what do u mean by doubling up on them? squeezing 2 trunk gaskets into the groove? i don't see how that's possible.

WildoutWhiteGSR 02-09-2006 08:33 AM

yup, just add another gasket behind or infront of the one you already have now.

SIC1 and others have already done it.

Aren't you lucky, I gave them to you for free. (...with the purchase of a JDM ITR cluster ;))

Scrappers are your best bet.
If I find another set in my parts boxes. You can have them for free.

Mine was leaking also and I also had a leak around the antenna and there was water getting in around the air vent in the side of the trunk on the drivers side.
