help needed regarding choice 4 springs!
 

I was in the market for getting a more aggressive drop to the 94 Teg. At this time i have the Eibach Sportlines with the 1.7" drop all around. I have the WW RS front and sides. I was looking around and i found H&R for the teg part #50145-88 giving me a 2.0" drop in the front and 1.75" drop in the back. Not much of a difference. Then i browsed a bit more and found H&R Springs for the civic that gives a 2.5" drop in the front and a 2.25" in the back part #51863-88. Now i am scared that my wheels (17") will rub and hit the top or my front end might me a bit too low. i want to do a more aggressive drop just dont know what to do. Any ideas which one i should choose? Or even if the civic one would fit for my car? Thanks for the help

get yourself some coil-over adjustable sleeves.

dont want to invest a ---- load of money in new coilovers...i am looking for something cheap cause i have new suspension to go with the springs thats why i dont want to get coilovers

then just stick with what you have and be happy with it.......if you cheap out with suspension stuff you will end up paying double in the end anyway.......

i spent like $900 when i got the suspension and springs. it dont make sense to spend more on new coilovers. its only a difference of a few cms i want to drop. not cheapin out just that i have other things in mind.

If ride height and possible rubbing is a concern, you are better off getting a adjustable coil over setup so you can be sure you can get the ride height you want. Even if you are doing your install you'll need to get a spring compressor or bring it to a shop to get the spring installed on your tophats and existing shocks. And also depending on the springs, you may or may not need to cut the bumpstops. If they're already cut and your new springs don't call for cutting them, you'll need to get new ones.

and springs sag over time. my old neuspeed sports lowered the car a lot more than the 1.75" they advertised when i originally put them on.

you can easily sell your current setup for a good half at least of what you paid to help bankroll a new setup and be done with it once in for all. dude, trust me. i've been there, done that....

get an alignment when you're done.

Don't be stupid you never cut bumpstops. They're apart of the suspension. Why not just cut your springs then heat the coils that are left.

Some spring manufacturers say to cut the bumpstops in the instruction/install manual. If it says to cut it for that particular spring, I'd cut it.

But yeah, cutting or heating coils until they sag is wack.
