Help a buddy out ppl

Hey dudes and duettes, my POS died today, this is the story as i have it so far;
was a timmies, pulled in to get a coffee and the car was fine, waiting in line it starts to idle low and rough, then i go to move it a bit to see what the hell is going on, it sounds like its having a hard time moving, real rough and backfiring, so im off to my buddies shop, no coffee RRR, pull out onto yonge st here in beautiful downtown Aurora, get to about 40Km and it just dies, pull into a parking lot and look under the hood all "looked" ok, timing belt is ok, have power to the dash lights working so its not the battery that i know, , try to start it and got a CEL, same kind of thing that i get when i know my MFR is acting up, its a DA thing, try to start as i said and nothing not cataching it will turn over but no VROOM? what could it be guys? many thanks in advance sorry for the long descriptor

car: 92 integra GS
motor:USDM b16A3 92-95 Del Slow stock internals nothing done but an intake

Marko..try these ok
check for spark!
if no spark look at the coil they do crack !
MAP sensor hoses could be cracked!

as for the MFR...turn the key to accessories listen for 3 clicks, first click is power! 2nd click is O2 engine light will go out,3rd click is fuel pump priming..if the engine light doesn't go out it's an MFR problem!

if you know someone with a distributor the same as yours ask them to borrow to see if it'll start...

PS. whoever said the fuel pump can't feed that engine is full of *&^$ the stock pump can feed 250hp!!!and they will outlive the car and 2 other cars...lol

^ hence why i said i have never seen a fuel pump die on a DA before... and last time i checked im not full of ----... at least it doesnt smell like it! lol

Try tapping on the .."main relay" could be stuck.

Dave YO 05-22-2008 11:53 PM

sounds like the screw on the distributor rotor backed itself out

1DA2NV 05-23-2008 01:15 AM

thanks gents im taking a look at it in the morning

1DA2NV 05-23-2008 07:16 PM

need a new distributor no spark on all cyclinders, anyone know where i can get one OBD1

Dave YO 05-23-2008 09:46 PM

just change the coil ..i have a few lying around the shop if you can make it out tomorrow

riding_young 05-23-2008 10:21 PM

the main relay needs to be cleaned up a bit... open it up as it is located under your steering wheel and then use soldering iron to neatly patch some points that have been worn out!

DOHCnoTEC 05-23-2008 10:48 PM

if it were your pump i have one here i pulled out my tank before i sold it.
hondas are pretty bad for distributers failing.

almost everyone i have owned has failed on me.

meh! its a honda thing
