Heater not working

need some help, the heater in my car is not working, it's the blower motor I think but could be in the switch, any help would be appreciated, thanks:confused:

dc2integra 11-22-2009 08:40 PM

does the blower motor work at all? any speeds work?

JDM_overdose 11-22-2009 08:54 PM

Clean it out

Hotrodcivic 11-22-2009 09:00 PM

nothing at all, no speeds at all, nothing, how would I clean it out?

Check the fuse, you can check the blower by checking the power coming to the fan with volt meter.

I'll try that, but something in the switch shorts out my deck too

JDM_overdose 11-23-2009 12:03 AM

Did you just buy this car? maybe there is a wire problem.

Hotrodcivic 11-23-2009 12:38 AM

yeah, just got it the other day, gonna unhook the deck and see what happens tomorrow

sashakthx 11-23-2009 01:15 AM

mine works only on the 4th setting (highest). what does that indicate?

JDM_overdose 11-23-2009 07:06 AM

Thats very odd that the heater isnt working. I would understand the A/C not working.

yeah nothing on any setting, no heat and no AC

JDM_overdose 11-23-2009 03:29 PM

Man that sucks, heat it supposed to work because its just heat coming from your engine.

The guy really effed you over by not telling you that problem

Hotrodcivic 11-23-2009 05:30 PM

I figured it out, it was the blower motor resistor. replaced it and all is good now

u might have a wiring problem with ur sliding switch thingy when ur setting it to 1,2,3 theres no connection being made

sashakthx 11-23-2009 07:44 PM

Hotrodcivic 11-23-2009 09:20 PM

take out the resistor and make sure non of the wires are touching or broken

I talked to Honda and apparently that's typical of the blower motor resister failing, take it out and replace it, I just did mine and it was around $45 for the part and 10 mins to change it
