heat coming from tires
i keep noticing that everytime i drive my car for a good 25-30 mins in traffic in hot weather once i come home and park my car i feel very hot heat from my front tires, i dont know if that is normal or not, so i need ur help
i know it mite be rotors, or caliper, or maybe i am just stressing for no reason guys please help |
This is normal the fact your in traffic you are always braking and heating up the whole brake assembly therefore heating up the tires and rims.
Your just over reacting everything should be fine. |
Sounds like just normal use to me. Maybe it's all the burnouts between traffic stops :D
I wouldn't be worried, it's normal to for them to heat up. Besides, if they're hot it means they're doing their job properly by converting energy to heat! |
okay guys thanks made me much better now
|
Haha yeah, don't worry about that too much. If it was your rear tyres that were eminating more heat then the front, you should be more worried. You drive a FWD car, so the fronts should be hotter + the front braking bias is at a higher percentage (dont know the specfic % for integras) So , unless your doin mad drifts.. somehow w/ your ebrake.. you should be good to go.

actually.... i would consider this. it could be that your alignment is off a bit, therefore the tires are being "dragged" causing a mild amount of friction causing them to heat up. Tires should normally be warm after a drive, but not hot. but then again, whats your definition of hot?
|
Is it the tire or the rim that's hot?
Hot tires is a sign of misallignment and hot rim is a sign of seized calipers. |
You should check the wear on your tires. If your alignment is off, it will wear the tires unevenly, or scuff marks.
|
yeah but if your alignment is off that bad, then generally you would notice it pulling when you drive as opposed to hot tires. plus scuff marks are not visible if you rotate tires properly. (unless your alignment is really bad) if i remember corectly its good practice to do it every couple oil changes, or every ten k's

my allignment is perfect i did it early this year
so for sure its not that |
