Hey guys, as most of you know Im fixing the teg due to a crash, Once everything comes in I might as well change a few other things. I do have a head gasket leak so Im going to change all the gaskets, Here is my problem
-I searched online to see wich gasket I need for my b16a (no number after the a) - this is what came in today (seen in pic) - this isnt it is it? this is the info I got from the net B16A (First Generation)The first VTEC engine Note: All Honda Motor B16A engines are stamped 'B16A' (with no number after the "A" to identify version). Found in: 1988-1991 JDM Honda Integra RSi/XSi (DA6/DA8) 1989-1990 JDM Honda CRX SiR (EF8) 1989-1990 JDM Honda Civic SiR (EF9) did he order the wrong one by mistake? or did I mess up by telling him to get me the 1990 crx sir one? I think he messed up cause only the one gasket came in haha other ones are on there way :werd: |
Don't you need the del sol one...?

Well I think all b16a with vtec should all be the same.
|
I have no idea,,,
Ive called places, asked people and everyone is giving me a different answer. Its driving me nuts haha |
i'm with Paul. i think all b16A should be the same for gaskets. there isn't a non-vtec b16
|
I would buy one for a b16a2 (99-00 SiR). Should be the same.
Call option JDM, they might know/be able to get you the right one. It is my understanding that all b-series DOHC vtec engines should use the same gasket. They all have the same bore and basic block/head design, with the only exception being the GSR head is a bit different. |

this is the parts thats buggin me, as seen in the pic the gasket is showing. You can see that there is stright line in the gasket it self. The one Ive seen online dont have that stright line, there curved, or pointed
nice leak eh haha |
I wouldn't worry about a part of the gasket that doesn't actually do anything or affect it's function.
What matters is that it matches to the bores, water jacket ports, bolt holes etc.. If everything else lines up right/looks correct, don't worry about the extra little bits on the outside edge that aren't the same. Different brands/manufacturers of gaskets will have small insignificant differences like this. Wikipedia the honda b-series engines and look at what cars came with the b16a and get a gasket for that car. |
