H22?

before i start, i did search and found absolutly nothing. I am unfamiliar with the h22. i was thinking about swapping a h22 into a teg but i got a few questions,

can a H22 be swapped into a teg? and wich gens? and would i be able to keep the power steering? and would there be enough clearance for a turbo?

thanks

have you tried hondaswap.com?

it can and has been done. i'm not exactly sure what needs to be done. i never really took an interest into that swap. you'll need mounts and axles tho that's for sure.

there are h22 turbo tegs out there, I know it is easier in a DC than a DA, which car are you doing? There are swap mounts for both

the swap into a dc is almost if not exactly the same as an h22 in an eg.. research h22 into an eg.

theres a guy w/ an ad in the FS section... he has a H22 in his teg.. .look for that, and PM him and see what he did.

how much money do you have for the swap?

Tyrone k 01-16-2008 01:41 AM

i dont have much, i havent got a teg yet. i was thinking about buying a teg, then swapping a h22, then turbocharging it. i choosed the h22 becuase its torqy, and i am not seeing alot of it around. but it looks like alot of work and money just to get .4L, so i guess i would just build a b18b instead, i might look into a DA, my bro has a dc2

A B18 A or B would be your cheapest option. you can find them for under 300 but if you're gonna rebuild it with some pistons and a valvetrain upgrade just get the cheapest one that doesn't have serious damage. with the right parts they can make some pretty decent power and torque.

The thing with the H22 is one the weight and where it is and the other is the tranny which is also very heavy. The swap sits more forward making it good for drag launches, but corning is out the window. Also changing gearing is really hard. Stock gearing is stupid long. Plus, it's not the most reliable power plant Honda ever made. Not much invested in developing that power plant. You can also stroke and bore a b20 bottomend and get close to 2.2L.

thanks for the help, i think i might just go b18a/b. its cheaper and the car might be a daily driver soo i think thats a bit more suitable in terms of cost and labour etc.
