gsr front strut bar vs itr front strut bar (upper)
 
is there really any difference in stiffness? any point of changing them out besides the fact itr looks nicer?

the gs-r is just a black round pipe, doesnt provide much stifness. the type-r is a complete stainless steel one, designed in a square shape. Which provides way more stifness.

Think about it. What would be more sturdy, a round pipe, or a stainless steel square.

^^^ Honda Tech facts. lol. I have a GSR bar in one car, and a Type-R bar in another. My conclusion? They work the same. The question you have to ask is if you think the GSR one is being bent when cornering really hard. For the purposes of driving and racing it on the track, both bars provide even stability in that neither of them bend. These things are hard-mounted with bolts...there is no play. If it was as weak as you put it, one can look at a GSR's bar and see bends and ripples,which we don't. Take off a GSR bar and see for yourself how much force is required to bend it. If put them on a mechanical device to test stiffness, I agree that the Type-R bar may be stronger, but for our purposes (in an Integra), there is no difference in performance and durability. If you already have a GSR bar, don't bother "upgrading" to the Type-R bar. On the other hand, if you didn't have a bar and the Type-R bar and GSR bar was the same price, the obvious choice would be for the Type-R for it's look of course, because it's added "stiffness" will not be noticed and will make absolutely no difference on the track. Honda engineers put it in the car for "bling" and in actuality is stronger, but does it make a difference? No.

I saw a video on a test where a DC was doing test with the bars. The GSR bar bent a bit.

The bars are equal to bend the gsr one you would need so
much force to bend it which won't happen if you drive really hard. The type r and far give the same performance and the type r looks nicer.

A front strut bar don't really do anything really, same as the rear, you are still going to get body roll from the car no matter if you have a no name knock of, GS-R or Type-R. They all work the same. Plus driving on the street, you will not even notice it to be any different, it's all looks, the only time you may even feel it, is if you go to a road course and take the car on the track and drive the car hard, and even then you wont notice much difference. The only way you are going to get rid of body roll is to install stiffer lowering springs, and adjustable struts, and a roll cage.

PS- Type-R are bars are hollow as well.

we are talking about strut bars right? not sway bars? lol even if there is a difference in meterial and how much each can take before it starts bending...honestly, a strut bar?
its all the same...as jason said they dont really do much, its more for the bling whichever you prefer better.

The ITR would bend easyer, so really the ITR is ----, not the GS-R

They both dont do ----. You need more than a front strut bar to get stiffness. You need a rear strut bar, , suspension to match what you need, bigger sway bar and brace, blah blah. A front strut bar wont do much. As for which is better? None. I like the type R one cuse of the looks prety much Shinny nice little piece of metal in the engine bay. lool. In other news, i wanna sell it and get a 3 point, and THEN we'll see if I can notice any difference.

Im thinking, because the 3point goes to the firewall, the 3point bar will absorb all the force if the car wants to bend.

Strut bar reduces chassis flex, not bodyroll. You need thicker sway bars to help with reducing body roll. On non-double-wishbone suspensions, the suspension movement is more limited in many ways, thus making the effects of chassis flex more apparent, such as causing less traction while cornering really hard (ie: track conditions). With great double wishbone systems, as found in Integras, chassis flex doesn't affect our cars' traction as much, if at all, because our suspension systems move a little bit more to maintain it's contact patch (e.g.: negative camber).

i have all the above done (well except a rear strut darn sub woofer) ahhhh so much to read and decided
