GS Map Light on an RS integra?

Just wondering if you could install a '91 GS Integra map light on a '91 RS Integra.

I read this FAQ:

http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/ho...5-civic-2.html

And it looks painful.

However, I remember having to replace my trunk plastic with a GS one, and it had a trunk light. Interestingly enough, the plugs for the trunk light were already in my Integra- it just didn't have the trunk light before. Plug it in, and it works like a charm.

I'm wondering if the map light plug assembly is already there above the headliner (so all I have to do is cut a hole, plug in the assembly, and screw it in).

Thanks.

Yes you could. Same idea, just make sure there is room above headliner. Since i dont remember it all that well, make sure when inserted there is enough room for the back of the map light to clear.

Also, if i recall correctly, the EK maplight is thinner in height.

i think you gotta run the wires. RS's did not come with all the wiring as an LS or GS did.
rear speaker wires and trunk light yes.

i'm actually surprised yours didn't come with a trunk light. both my RS's did. i had to install my own glove box light that i pulled out of my LS parts car, considered the map lights too but didn't wanna cut open my headliner

Perhaps the trunk light was an option (albeit a lame one, imo).

I'm not too keen on cutting up my headliner either, but a little extra light in the driver's seat would prove helpful- reduces eyestrain when using the netbook in the Teg.

I'm kicking myself right now for not grabbing that glove box light from that GS teg at Standard Auto wreckers yesterday (free parts day- last one of the year).

glove box light comes in handy.
