grinding sound (kinda like that guys thread!)
kinda like the thread below, but i have a few different symptoms. when driving straight there is a slight grinding noise. when i turn to the left, about as much asu would during a normal lane change, the sound is loud and felt through the clutch pedal. a full left turn makes no sound, and turing right does nothing. when braking i can feel the vibration through the brake pedal. the sound is louder and can be felt more when speed is increased. i checked ball joints, axle nuts. i noticed that the boot on my pass side axle (boot before it connects to hub) slid down a bit and grease has worked its way out. u think it would be dry inside? your input is appreciated.

check your wheel bearing

i know how to check for play. but if there isnt, how do i visually check it.

Definately your bearing man, I had this happen where i was on the highway and the sound was very loud. Wouldn't drive to much like that cause you don't want to mess it up any more than it is.

maybe thats whats wrong with mine have a familiar sound . i changed the axles brake pads and rotors upper and lower ball joints and i still hear the noise .so thats the only thing left to do . but u know what the sound comes and goes. if i leave the wheel bearing like that what can happen ?
