If you swap out a vtec tranny for a ls tranny, yes you get to top out higher but when you shift at red line you wont land in vtec meaning you would be slower in your ET's. A ls motor and a vtec motor has way different powerbands therefore shorter gears is better for drags and longer for gears for topping out

^^^ Correct, but most people swap out the ls tranny, for a "vtec" tranny.

My ls motor with my ITR tranny topped out at 195ish lol redlining (8 grand) in 5th.

Posted a WTB in clubsi back in the day and he responded - I forget his name but it was shipped over from Japan it was a 97 JDM ITR tranny.
