HELP Getting rid of ITR Motor and going with K20
Im new on here and I currently have a 2000 supercharged PTY ITR and the best it has run is a 13.5 @ 108 I am thinking about going with a K20 turbo what do you guys think about it ?? what are the down falls if any. Like I said im new to here so I would appreciate any and all feedback anyone could give me
Thanks |
thats gonna be one expensive ass swap man. not a lot of aftermarket support yet (compared to the b-series motors). did i mention it'll be expensive?
check out k20.org, lots of good info there. GL! |
If you go K20 make sure you get the JDM tranny. USDM tranny is ass.
I personally thing your better of with the B18C5. Just build your C5, sell your charger and by a turbo kit for the B18. |
Thanks
I appreciate the advice but i think its going to be more to build the B18 I can get a k20 new for like 2gs
I really appreciate you guys responding what turbo do you reccomend Thanks again |
I dont know a whole lot about boost, but when I hear "turbo", Greddy or XS Engineering always comes to mind.

There's no way a K20 motor is selling for 2g's unless ur getting a base model that has ridiculous amount of km's on it or its stolen.
Why not just sell the supercharger and turbo the itr motor instead. Makes a lot more sense. Most of the power that the K20 offers is from the bigger displacement engine. |
The fastest civics in the country right now are turboed B motors. That has to tell you something about the performance potential of the B motor.
Though the most reliable way to go faster is to lose weight. Strip everything out of it that you don't need to go fast - stereo, rear seats - then put in lighter doors, fenders, hood, glass, everything. You'll find you'll go faster and have less wear on the engine, tires and brakes. Win-win. |
honestly if ur gona go Kseries make sure its not stolen ... from wut ive been hearing around if u get pulled over and u have a kseries they will inpound ur car for investigation.... if ur motor is stolen ur fuked if its not have a nice day

As RRRex stated as well, most people running at the track have B series motors. I'd stick with the C5 anyday over a K20. Forget changing your motor man :naughty: , just change your blower! |
yea...instead of spendining the 2 g's on the k20, and another i dont know, lets say 1g to install with the special mounts and such, you could use that 3 g's, plus selling your blower to build the itr for boost!!!
|
I'm not a fan of K20's and they go for pretty cheap cause many people seem not to like them either. |

k20a2/3 suck ass -- dont even bother with them. seriously, if you were gonna do a k swap, might as well go all out and get a k20r, those r0x0rz.
