gas gauge not working

small and annoying problem. My gas gauge isn't working. Its way below empty, and theres plenty of gas in it. Anybody had a problem like this? Could it be a fuse, or wiring? everything else on the cluster works fine. Any suggestions?

its not the original cluster. it is a gsr cluster, but it was in the car when i bought it and working fine....

^ If you re-used the sending unit..... prob damaged it during the swap...

and as for the initial question of the gauge not working... hard to say could be a connection... could be the cluster... could be the sending unit. What I would do if I were you is pull the cluster out... it's only 5 screws and will take about 5-10 mins.. start by checking the connection at the back..

^^^ +1 what james said. if that fails and you still have the original cluster swap out the gas gauge and voila, should work again.

thanks for the feedback guys....just yesterday i got behind the cluster, and checked everything there, but all seems fine.... however i could be wrong, not very savvy when it comes to electrical stuff....anyone know how much is might cost to replace the sending unit???
