FITV Cleaning Help

I was looking at the guides and noticed that the whole intake was taken out, is that required? Also what is the best cleaner to use, is there anything that I should know, this is my first time doing this I don't want to mess anything up. I want to fix my High idle at cold start though, is there anything else I should try before this?

well first how high is "high" its normal for an engine to idle high on a cold start once its under 2000rpm i believe so if ur worried about that then thats nothing to stress...i use brake cleaner most of the time when im cleaning down parts seems to work fine

Well along with the high idle it does wonder for a bit and then settle down after a few mins at 800RPM, what do you suggest?

sounds like your describing a cold start. the computer in your car tells it to idle at higher rpm when your car starts up at lower temps. when it gets to optimal temperature your idle returns to normal. (around 700-800rpm)

so i wouldn't worry about it
