ey guys need some help with painting my clear tails

ey my tails were the all white clear 1990-1993 tails.. Well i painted them red and they lasted 4 months then began to fade and not be bright red. I used hobby shop paint transparent red in a little bottle. I then used a little paint brush. Well this leaves the tails look nice at first but aterwards leave smears and bumps over the tails.. Im wondering if there any other paint u can use or any technique to making them look super clean and the paint looks good at all times.. Can i buy a can instead and spray the tails? wats it called and where can i buy some if so..cuz my paint has gotten wear down due to weather conditions.. I want it too look super red like stock and its clear. It looks so sick post pics of yur projects and wat u used and how u did it step by step plz and thanks guys ok ciao. plz help me out guys

testors trans red,you can get it all walmart, hobby stores etc, clean the plastic well and spray away, you shouldn't need to do any like scuffing,i've never had problems with flaking, also spray some clear to prevent fading

use krylon stained glass paint...

http://www.krylon.com/images/product...ned_gl--------

i got mine at Michaels in Burlington... i prob still have some left... it is spray paint... just spray it on... its transparent so the lights will come through... and then top it off with a clear... without the clear coat... it will fade... (i used this to red out my amber turn signals)... let me know if you need more info...

basically spray thin coats of it... 3-4 coats is more than enough from what i remember... then put 3 coats of clear and it should last long...

you could always throw the clears in an oven, split them apart and paint them from the inside, then wetsand/polish the outside of the lens.
