engine questions.

good morning guys.

here is what i want to ask .
i am going and take a look at a other da integra today and the guy told me last night that the powertrian is good. so i asked him what he has under the hood and he said it has a b18b1 i think with a k20 bottom end(non vtec) to it now is that possible to miss blocks and heads like that?. i would like to know what you all think about this .

That guy if full of ----. You can't mix B series and K series engine parts. Nothing fits and nothings the same between the 2.

thanks man good to know. i was thinking to my self how the hell he got a k20 bottom end to fit. so am going and take a look at it now so i will update on my findings.

Cool.

ok i saw the car and he thinks that he has a k20 bottem end on a b series head. but to me it looks like it is just a b18b same as my 93 teg. so i will be just taking parts in about 2 weeks . can anyone give me some go sites where i can find the different blocks that go togethe well.. like a vtec head a and b20 block.

that guy is on crack. ask for a K series stamp on it, and tell him you'll pay $5k above asking price for it if there is one.

isn't the timing belt on the left side on a K series, where as B series has it on the right side?
Few people told me right in my face things like "This is a k20 head on b20 bottom" or "This is k24 bottom with ITR head" arg....silly people.

Yea martin. the K series engines are flipped around. intake comes outta the drivers side. timing belt on pass side
