engine problems

The car has been ticking and bogging since my friend got it back from the dealer after they replaced the rear bumper for him. The dealer did source it out though.

what causes blow by? I been hearing it might be the piston rings? The dealer also said that my friend missed a fuel injection flush and he put his sparkplugs in himself and now the dealer is voiding the warranty.

My friend has a 2006 Colbat SS 2.4L non-supercharged. Can they really void the warranty based on that?

first mistake: your friend bought a Chevrolet.

no they cant, call gm canada. the flush has nothing to do on how long the motor lasts or anything. GM has the worst customer service in the auto business.. nowonder they are gonna go bankrupt..

that I already know and does not help him.

He did call GM head office and complained. They said they will call the GM in Alliston and the owner called him back and tried to blame it on him and said that he won't warranty it. I told him to tell them if they can prove that the spark plugs and missing the fuel injection flush service causes blow by.

he shoulden't be getting blow by whatsoever if he has the stock crankcase ventalation system and an active PCV system, not to mension that it's a newer car and the piston rings should not be shot allready. if the piston rings are not creating a seal then blow by occures; the dealer knows this and knows that the motor is going to either have to be rebuilt or replaced and is trying to snake his way out of it. tell him to go ---- himself.

I'd say take it to a different dealer.

another useless reply.

My friend actually is going to another dealership. It's a bit far though. He explained the situation and the dealership was actually surprised and told him to bring it in and they will fix it. So he's going to drop it off on Sat and we're see what happens.
