engine codes

Well running my car and i'm gettin "random misfire cyl 1,2,3".... brand new plugs, brand new wires, pulled 1 wire at a time off the distributor, and it all affected the way the car idled (which means they're all getting spark)... my 1 friend thinks its possibly just valves need to be adjusted.. any other ideas people my have, same issue with a resolution or backround information needed... let me know

Thanks!

could be gap in the plugs. yes even though they are brand new, they may be off. one time i bought 2 packs [2 plugs in each] and all 4 were at different gap. some were wide open, some were almost touching.
double check that and check your distributor cap/rotor. it could be worn badly and spark could be weak.

Yes always check the gaps on the plugs before putting them in. You said you did them 1 at a time, but now it's running bad, I've heard that soooo many times, I did them one at a time and then I go look at it, and they are not in the right firing order. The firing order is 1-3-4-2. It could very well be the ignitor in the cap is gone, and you should have also changed the cap and rotor at the same time.

I'm gonna check plug gaps but my friend quickly looked he said that 1 or 2 of them looked "wet". But I'm gonna try adjusting valves I'll check the gaps again and I was told before someone was thinking dizzy...

Plugs were wet?
Top or bottom?

Also if check for loseness in coils and any part inside the dizzy when you take the cap off. My car was back firing once due to that.
Valve adjustment won't really do that much, my car had all intake valves way open and didn't throw any codes and ran "ok".
And as spike said, check the firing order.

The bottom. Like one was clean and the other was dirty. I put the wires on the dizzy as I took them off... So unless that was wrong to begin with... Than ya lol

like mine still runs and runs fine, I don't find it misfires but throws the code that it does. So ya my friend said he thought some of the valves might be off I'll check inside the dizzy as well
