Default Emissions Test Help

I just got a 1995 Sunfire (don't ask, winter beater) and I'm having problems with emissions. I took it for a test at Canadian Tire and it blew for N.o. 4000. All of the others passed. The limit for the N.o. is around 2000 for the sunfire. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can bring it lower?

It ran at Canadian tire with 4 month old gas in it and I'm guessing it was probably done cold. I'm going to try to heat it up on the highway, throw some 91 octane in it and some guaranteed to pass crap and then take it to the drive in emission testing place on warden. If anyone can help out it would be great. Thanks.

Karma has the right idea. 94 octane burns cleaner than 91. So use that. Pour in methyl hydrate along with it and most importantly take it for a long hard drive. You gotta get the cat hot. 15-20 minutes should do.

sounds like you have a bad 02 sensor but if you think you can beat the test with some premium fuel and some gas additives give it a shot first.

Well, the results came in. It was the EGR & CAT. Replaced both and it ran flawlessly. All for UNDER $300.00! Remember, when you mess with the little fuzz ball, you mess with the big fuzzy wuzzy also, homie.
