Doing Rims
Hey guys i got my old 16's which the tires have the wires coming out lol...i wanna put these on my accord and they fit they look like crap with a super big gap above the fender but i dont care.
Here are the rims I Have to work with...
As you can see here tires are DONE:
This is where they are currently stored!!!
Now i wanna paint them...the car is a deep blue so i was thinking of painting the some sort of gold colour...now my question for you guys is since i dont or can not get my hands on a sandblaster and i dont wanna pay to get them done what are the steps/easiest way of doing this process i am not looking for mint since its for the beater lol just bored and wanna do something to a car since mine is on hold.
Any advice will be greatly appricated. And maybe throw some other colours out there that could work with the car.
Car looks like this link below exact same.

Just get some sand paper, and just sand all the chips so they are smooth and the the paint is all sanded down. As well as you'll need some primer to prime all the bare metal with primer, and then you can just paint the rims what ever color you want, as well as clear them. Here's a list of stuff you'll need. I have done them for people in the pass before for friends and customers at work. I normally would charge $100 for a set of 4 rims.
Sand paper:
-240 grit
-400 grit
-600 grit
-Primer
-Paint color of your choice in spray cans x2
-Clear coat in spray cans x2
-A roll of masking tape

Start with the lower grid to get those chips down fast, so start with 240, and then go to 400 and then 600.
If you want some help doing them Paul, you can come over on Saturday and I'll help you do them here at my place.

my brother and i did 2 sets of rims ( my winters and his stock altima rims) we pretty much did what spike said. sand it with those grits, for the inner part of the rim where all that brake gunk ends up with used a steal brush with the drill attachment and cleaned it up nicely, after u sand it we would wipe the rims down with paint thinner, prime them with 2 coats and then paint them with bout 2-3 coats of paint oh and we used clearcoat to give it a nice shine. we got all the paint materials from canadian tire as they have rim paint and primer for metal
heres a pic of the altima rims that we did over the winter, it took about 3 days of good work hope it helps

Thanks Anthony and Jason but this is something i wanna try.
Now i just need some cheap tires after im done to mount them on the rims lol.

Update: so i started working on then yesterday after work. Got 1 sanded down with the low grit. Was a pain in the *** cuz there white. Got the deep chips as smooth as possible. Let's just say my fingers kill from the dam sand paper and I only did one lol. Will get some pics of the one i did today.
Found a super big dent on one rim just wondering how to fix and how much it would cost. Will get pics of that too. It's bent about 3/4 of an inch.
