Do i need a camberkit if dropping a 96 integra?
i'm plan on putting in some H&R springs so thats about 1.7/1.5 drop.
Is a camberkit required for this drop to prevent tire dmg? If so what do you recommend Thnx |

checkout OptionJDM: Performance Parts & Accessories good prices If you lower your car and dont put a camber kit. your tires will be on an angle. Which will cause the inner part of your tire to ware out. Poping several tires in the summer. |

If you lower your car not too much, you dont need it. but its recommended, for better driving.

You get more camber in the front tires than the rear. If you REALLY want to be safe and not get any wear on your tires I say just worry about the fronts. But I doubt you;ll need the kit for 15's, 17s maaaybe, what size tire is on the 17s?

you will be fine. thats not much of a drop. i had 2" drop with no camber kit and had no wear on tires. was running 195/60r15. only thing that is recommended is allignment.

After you get the car lowered, get a alinement done. If you have any more then 1.5 degree of camber, you are going to kill your tires. I fine up to 1.5 degree of negative camber will not kill your tires that fast, but anything more negative will, so just get a alinement done after wards. I do alinements on lowered hondas/acuras alot at work.

It is not necessary to have a camber kit installed. However it is highly recommended that an alignment be performed after the act of lowering your vehicle.

Or get a camber kit if you hit potholes like me and end up with over 5 degs of unwanted camber!

Suspension 101. If he doesnt get a camber kit. its going to get worse and worse and his alignment will always go out of wack

If you plan on tracking the car then camber is a must or your sidewalls will be eaten off of your tires in 1 track date, but as for just lowering i wouldnt even bother getting camber just get alligment done, i have 17's on mine just not lowered yet :( and tires are mint as the day i bought them and that was 2 seasons on them and 2 drag days.

I have a 2.5" drop, and I need camber kit, I have 2.8 degrees of negative camber, and kills tires every 2-3 months, but like I said before, if you have more the 1.5 degree of negative camber, your going to kill your tires fast.

Yea youre gonna rub on the top with 205's if you go any lower. Im guessing now you'll just be rubbing along little bumps here and there. But its true, get an alligment done. What youre doing when you're lowering the car is changing the way the tire hits the ground and the way it comes back up. In some cases theres is no need for a camber kit and you'll only need an allignment. Like I said also, worry more about your fronts. The back you can do the washer trick, loool.

the washer trick is a "poor man's" rear camber kit. However it is CRITICAL that you use an extended bolt.

I got 17'' summers with low pros, and my front is dropped, id say get the camber kit cuz i went threw 2 front summers in about a month and half tops,

I was running 15's last year, with the same drop I have now with my 17's, and my 15's only lasted me about two and a half months on the tires, all because of the drop I have. |
