Dam Accord.
Omg my ------- accord...coming back to mississauga from brampton on the 410 just passing the 401...car starts to vibrate like an earthquake...getting worse and worse thought i had a flat...was 4 km from my house that i would ride it out even with the flat :naughty: stupid me...well i got home look at all the tires they were all completely fine...my sis b/f was over told me he had same problem in his grand prix said to check the spark plugs....and what the do you know the spark plugs are half way covered in oil...my valve cover gasket was leaking somewhere it looked fine to me...but i replaced it got the set for 36 bucks and 20 min off work so it was good...i havent check it since yesterday i hope its nothing more serious...it has to last me till spring!!!!
Let me know if you guys think it could be something more. |
any smoke?
naw no smoke...it has been burning more gas the usual i think...i got 450km out of 50 liters and i drive like a grandpa in that thing...ya but i dont think its the head gasket. if it is ---- it im not fixxing it lol.
wornvalve guides or worn piston rings probably. also might be a bad pcv valve( that hose that was ripped on youe b18b1)
If thats the issue. it will last till spring |
there are spark plug seals.... they could be fucked

usially on high milage cars, this happens. its a valve seal or piston seal
i hope its nothing to bad ill check the spark plugs again in a few days see whats up with them.
If its a seal, it will last till spring. Correct me if im wrong guys.
If the oil is from the top of the plug [on the white part] then its the seal in the valve cover...forgot what you call it correctly but the round ones. Now even if you replaced them, it may have shifted. Did you use silicone when putting them in? Was there oil on every single plug or just 1-2?
Also this has nothing to do with pcv valve..headgasket or anything that was mentioned above. And the only thing that you may have damaged were the wires from possible short since oil was all over it. So clean the wires up, and it should be fine. |
its the valve gasket or spark plug well seal.
Don't see how it could be valve cover seal? Unless he did not tighten the nuts in the middle of the cover, the valve cover gasket cannot be blamed.
well the spark plug seals were change as well it came with the vc gasket. and the bolts were on tight but maybe not tight enough. and yes all the plugs were in oil and i gave a nice clean before i put them back and got all the oil out of the spark plug chambers blew it out with a air compressor and sucked out the rest with a long hose lol thats how much there was.
just take it to a mechanic. Nobody can diagnose it over the internet. It can be 3 things, only a visual of the problem will tell you.
oh what 3 things could it be?
there is only one way for oil to get ontop of the plug. its the seal between the valve cover and spark plug tube. get some silicone, make sure you clean the v/c nicely with some brake clean and try again with silicone...should do the trick. also make sure the bolts in the middle of the v/c and all the outter ones are on tight. |
Alright. I got some of that black silcone that's for the gaskets. I'll give it a few more days and see if the problem reoccurs. Thanks for the help guys.
