correct A/C pressure and a/c system...?

I'm not sure what's wrong with my a/c it worked last year and this year it decided to stop working so, I tried to get the a/c manifold guage set but apparently the partsource/ct's around me don't have it (which I find hard to believe). Anyways, I have a 98 integra and i've got the refill kit with the guage so I'm just wondering what the reading is supposed to be on the guage to indicate my a/c is full. I've been searching around but haven't found anything yet so thought I'd ask here. Also, do you have to drain the system before you fill it or can you just top it up?

You can just top it off but you're suppose to recover the a/c system. Vaccum the system for 30 minutes and then recharge the system. If you do get your hands on a manifold gauge set, the rule of thumb is that the high side pressure should be about 100 PSI higher then the low side pressure.

the refill kit cam with a guage so I was wondering if I could just hook it up and see what the pressure was at and that would tell me how much I need to add. I need to know what the proper pressure is supposed to be when it is full so that I know whether or not its low and how much to add.

dont ac suppose to last along time? unless theres a leak?... maybe get it diagnose... cuz if theres a leak..itll be gone by next year again

check your hood sticker most vehicles have the pressure on the sticker somewhere

Those year Integras all the way up to 2001 have A/C system pressures of 1.54 pounds. This pressure is realized when you do a complete EVAC and Recharge. You'll never do that with a manifold gauge. Now if your going to do it with the Canadian Tire refill systems, you connect them to the low side lines and refill until you see the pressure go up to 30-40 in the green area.

You must fill the AC while the car is running. Good chance though is that there is a leak. Wouldn't hurt to buy a can of A/C Pro Seal from Canadian tire or some other comparable sealer. If u get te CTC one it'll work with that same manifold connector.

Hope it helps.
