Cluster Difference?

Anyone know why these two clusters are different? Where can we get the 270 max km/h from..

The top one is the USDM ITR cluster the bottom one is the JDM ITR cluster.

Project X 02-22-2008 10:44 PM

Top one is actually UKDM ITR cluster.

onelankan 02-22-2008 10:47 PM

^^^
My bad didn't know that...so whats the difference between the UKDM & USDM?

Buff4Prez Yo 02-22-2008 10:51 PM

usdm goes to 220

onelankan 02-22-2008 10:54 PM

Thanks....now i know which cluster I have :| lol

dc24me 02-23-2008 12:31 AM

"ukdm" itr clusters are in miles....

Cheetah 02-23-2008 12:33 AM

But that is in km/h? Are the type R engines the same in the JDM,USDM & UKDM? Meaning all of them can really hit 270?

dc24me 02-23-2008 12:40 AM

that cluster is probably "edm". it could be "audm". in japan, the ecus have a speed limiter set at 180kph i believe....

VinceTEC 02-23-2008 01:43 AM

WoooWww

Cheetah 02-23-2008 09:20 AM

USDM engines only measure in MPH, the speed sensors aren't calibrated to measure KM/H as the metric system supports terrorism.

You need a JDM cluster if you want to have correct readings in Canada as the USDM cluster will only work properly once you go to the USA.

VinceTEC 02-24-2008 12:50 AM

Oh, THAT'S why!!!!! Thanks for clearing that up bbTeg

+rep for you

Cheetah 02-24-2008 01:04 PM

See Vince you learnt something too, drop the hate :D

If you go on inlinefour.com

Mugen has the Piece you need, its about$400 for it however. Reads to 260 km/h though!

LoL dyam, ---- that. Another question guys, When I push my RPM to like 6 and shift to second, the rpm goes to zero and stays there until I shift to 3rd..Anyone know what could be wrong? Also on normal driving, Around 2.7rpm.. the pointer shakes and then when I switch to next gear it goes to what its suspose to be at if it didn't shake..Help?

bbTeg 02-24-2008 11:56 PM

^^^^^^

Have your torque converter checked out, that's the leading cause of RPM indication lossage while in 2nd gear.

Cheetah 02-25-2008 11:11 AM

Thanks once again!

check your dizzy too

sikkkkktegra 02-25-2008 11:02 PM

torque converter? isnt he driving 5 speed now? its probably the gauge cluster.

Yeah my car is 5spd, so is it still the torque converter?

jugtoor 02-26-2008 03:11 PM

5spds don't have torque converters, its most likely something to do with your gauge cluster or a faulty wire from your speed sensor? <----- not sure about that one.

sikkkkktegra 02-26-2008 04:33 PM

could be the speedo itself... and no you dont have a t.c.

Of course, how else is the torque supposed to be converted from horsepower which drives the wheels?.

Horsepower = spins the engine
Torque = spins the wheels

DRT acura 02-27-2008 06:04 AM

Honda's don't have torque silly :giggle:

Cheetah 02-29-2008 01:55 PM
