car won't start

car won't start, hear only clicking noises in steering column/cluster area. when i press the brake, the interior light goes very dim. :willy:

my feeling is dead battery. and that a boost and 1/2 hour run should cure it.

i think the battery died because i had a loose negative connection on the battery. i corrected the loose connection. now just gotta wait for a boost.

any other ideas?

also.. all the fuses looked to be in good shape.

Boost and let the car run for 10 to 15 minutes. Then remove the negative cable (while the car is running) and see if it dies or not. If it does then it's the alternator. If it doesn't then it's the battery.

same thing happend to mine early summer. the ticking (kinda fast ticking) is the main relay, i thought it was my ignition switch. turned out to be a pOOched battery. it just suddleny went too, and once i got a boost from CAA, it died at low RPM when i was backing into a space at work. mine woulden't hold a charge, i'd leave it off, turn it to acc. then once i went to start it, i'd hear the clicking and all the lights on the dash went dim/out.
