Car Shaking

So on my way home from the meet my car started to shake on the highway. After about 10 mins of driving on the highway my car started to shake like crazy.

The faster i accelerate the harder it got. As soon as i let go of the accelerator the shaking went away and as soon as i accelerated again it came back. I went up to 120km/h and then put the car in neutral, and there was NO shaking. As soon as i put it back in gear, the shaking started again.

Today i was driving around 60km/h - 80km/h and same thing happening. It is really pissing me off and i need to do something about it to get it fixed because it is very frustrating. Could any of you know what this might be? IT FEELS AS IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE.

I described the problem as accurate as i could have. Some more info:

- Car was stored for 16 months, randomly driven and started every 3 weeks.
- Driving the car for about a month since taken out from storage
- Recently changed the rear tires to put to the front but the shaking was minimal when i hadn't changed the tires, so im going to try and swap them back again
- Rotors are new, Pads are new
- Drive shafts have been driven for 6 months,
- Drivers side ball joint changed 6 months ago as well

If there is anything else that would help you answering my question, just ask.

Thanks guys.

I'm just going to assume possibly motor mounts? But could also be axles as it seems to only shake under power transfer from transmission and goes away when in neutral.

possibly motor or tranny mounts or bushings

jack your car up and check your wheel for play (tie rod ends, wheel bearings)

that is just off the top of my head, I would do some searching on here or TI and see what they have to say, if you need the car ASAP I would take it right to your mechanic, better safe than sorry.

Check my suggestions first though.

bah DJINFERNO806 you beat me to it.

Good luck,

Chris

Wheel bearing. same thing happened to me 2 years ago. it doesn't shake when you start your trip but the further you are in to it, the shake gets worse, right?

could be your diff or an axle my car was doing the same thing recently and then my axle popped out of my diff and would not stay put afterwords. So i threw in a new diff and a new axle and its drives perfect.

YES! absolutely right!

took it to my mechanic. couldnt find anything wrong. told me that it might be drive shaft but that got changed recently so thats not it for sure.

I doubt its the bearings cause the bearings would also be making an annoying loud sound as well!

Very true.!

i think it might the bushings in the stock traction bars that go from the control arms to the front subframe..!! just a thought

Had the same problem on my past DA, didn't bother fixing it cause I sold the car as it was but I knew it was that.
