I'm looking for some advice on my car audio system.

I have an older sony deck and a clarion eq744 equalizer. I bought a metra mounting kit but the equalizer doesn't fit into the slot. I tried modifying the kit but I don't think it's doable. So my question is:

a) since i am looking for a new deck anyways, how are the built in crossovers and equalizers on head units? are they comparable in sound quality?

b) if i were to keep the equalizer but mount it elsewhere, where should i mount it? the glovebox is out, so is the only other place under the seat? what is involved in doing that? removing the seat?

c) is there an option to keep it in the dash?

if u wanna keep it in, i suggest taking it to an audio shop, they should be able to custom fit it for you.
