i have a "compustar pro" pretty good has shock sensor very long 2 way pager distance.. plus automatic starter.. probably around 300
|
Ill be going for an alarm system this month or beginning of July. Ill be going for a compustar 2 way alarm. A good one would come around 300. Depending what kind you want.
|
I talked to my friend, he said it will be between $300-$600 with install, it all depends on what alarm you want, and what extra stuff you want it to do.

Talk to "Davis" from Selective Sound in Mississauga. This is the guy who installed my deck. The same day I was getting my deck done, he was installing a Viper Alarm system in an another customer's car. I was listening to him speak and he knows his sh*t. Not to mention he even added a couple of extra security features into my deck install.
Not sure if it will help but you can mention that I suggested him. He did an install for a clarion vx409 in my Integra last saturday. Decent/Competitive Pricing, and he knows his stuff, worth a quote. (905) 826-8998 Note: I also know he gives deals to people if they say there from the 7th Gen Civic Forums... lol. |

Also: Be straightup with him, explain to him how you have gotten other quotes and looked at other alarm systems. He will explain the pro's and con's of each system and will most likely match/beat the prices you've gotten elsewhere. When I was getting my deck installed, I mentioned another quote to him and offered to give him their business card so he could call if he wanted to confirm the price. Sometimes the honesty helps.

Here I pulled this off the 7th Gen Civic Forums...
It's regarding a viper alarm system, but it's dated 2005. I googled "Selective Sound 7th Gen Civic" --------------- thanx for the props pal!!! (blushes ) i spoke to Davis and he said if anyone here at 7thGen is interested he'll offer them the same deal.. 320hv (w/ 2 remotes) includes power doors off the remote if car is so equipped free second siren $199.00 + tx just call him and tell yer on 7thGen Davis 905-826-8998 |
Just tell him a few members from TCC told you to go see him.
|
thanks guys i just called unfortunately he wasnt there but another rep helpd me out they dont have the python 902 sale out anymore but he told me of a 2-way compustar pro series 2-way alarm installed for $350... best quote so far but still looking around

i've got an compustar... its pretty good and everyone I know who has one is quite happy with it. Probably cost $300ish, I got mine done at audio heaven
|
"compustar Pro" with remote start two way pager alarm shock sensor. got mine done at audio heaven very happy with it no problems i paid 350.00
|
My teggy came with a Compustar, 2 way pager w/ remote starter.
Personally I didn't like it so much b/c of the false alarms and the inability to bypass security zones. Bypass is important b/c let's say that one of your door sensor fails, the compustar will not activate so you have NO alarm. It's all or nothing. My Viper (on another car) allowed that. If the alarm is activated, the LED blinks, but the potential thief has NO clue that one of your sensors isn't working. Just my 2 cents. |
hmm interesting jackson never knew about that bypass function i will ask about that mayb compustar has corrected that problem...

so now ive hit a dilemma compustar vs viper??? the most asked question when it comes to alarm systems i found a compustar for $350 and a viper for $300.....
|
I'm surprised no one mentioned Clifford. I had Cliffords installed on my first Integra and my first Civic by Kennedy Hi Fi (when they were still on Kennedy) and I really liked them.
I've also heard good things about the Compustar but I'm not a big fan of those huge remotes with the big antennas. |
i have a few alarms left when my boy closed his shop. pm me if interesred. (clifford, viper, alpine) can sell for about a $100
