camber kit question..

im looking to go to do laps this year on a track, but i dont feel like wasteing money on tires for them to wear quick becuase of camber, and no im not raising it back to stock hieight, but there are types for balljoint, and bushings, etc.? wondering what holds up better, and how much do they normally go for, its for a 1990 integra.

have u thought about an alignment? its the toe that kills ur tires not camber

dc24me Apr 5, 2006 11:42 PM

don't you want camber if you are lapping on a track?

HKJ Apr 6, 2006 01:37 AM

just get an alignment and zero out your toe. you'll be fine.

Buff4Prez Yo Apr 6, 2006 02:59 AM

you should be fine if you get a 4 wheel alignment done. a little camber is good for track driving. not sure what a good amount of camber would be...it all depends on the set up. my guess is -0.5 to -1.5

B18_GSR Apr 6, 2006 09:20 AM

oh ok, well sounds a lot cheaper, thanks.

tdot2gteg Apr 6, 2006 04:35 PM

uhhhh. u dont know what your saying. driving normally lowered is what gives u camber wear. racing with camber gives u better traction around corners and actualy makes your tires wear evenly

B18_GSR Apr 6, 2006 08:11 PM

hmm, well i was thinking that camber was good for track, but im new to this track thing, so i dont know to much, so is there anyway i can have camber for track, and not have camber for street?

Reza Apr 6, 2006 08:35 PM

rofl. b18 don't lesson to a word tdotg2teg says. I mean comon don't u see his sig?

B18_GSR Apr 9, 2006 09:24 PM

so, then what do you guys sugest? camber kit? or wheel alignement?

WildoutWhiteGSR Apr 10, 2006 12:47 AM

wheel alignement

2qwik2nv Apr 10, 2006 07:52 AM

In my experience, I'd always use a camber kit, it will cost a bit, but you can dial in how much camber you want to run. I've seen so many cars out there that are slammed and their wheels are on like a 45 degree angle, not good for wear!

My opinion, do it right or don't do it at all! FYI, granted this is a DC2, a stock Type R has -0.5 degree camber, don't remember the tow settings though.

B18_GSR Apr 10, 2006 08:48 PM

hmm, alright, well ill throw my rims on, then get an alignement and see how it is, then ill have to look for a camber kit, any sugestions on ones that can hold up on a track? and wont hit the fender from the car being to low..
