are cam gears worth buying?

just curious on if there really worth putting on your N/A motor ?

better for tuning.

only if you have enough engine modifications to justify the cost of the gears + tuning.

no sense in trying to adjust cam timing on a mostly stock engine with stock cams etc....

I was thinking about this too. That in most off the torque graphs i see for the stock Ls, power takes a huge dive after 6000 rpm. And if you could use camgear to move the powerband up a bit, a little more top end.

Or maybe it because after 6000 rpm the Ls intake and head cant flow enough. Just a thought

yes if tuned

dont they have to be dyno tune???

non-VTEC Jun 28, 2007 06:29 AM

yes they have to be dyno tuned.......if you change the cam timing you wont have any idea if the changes you made are actually helping or hurting the power band without it being on a dyno..
