A/C removal

Today I finally decided that I do not need A/C in my car. So I went to a local shop and had the a/c coolant drained ($10...not too bad).

My question is about removing all of the lines and the condenser, basically making sure that I am on track and not going to mess anything up.

I removed the condenser fan (the small one).

Now from what I read I will need to remove my bumper to get at the bolts I need to undo the condenser from the bracket and I can also take out the tensioner at this time as well (I will be cutting the belt b/c it is old and I wont need it anyways).

I also know that there is an A/C wiring harness... can that whole thing be unplugged too or is it supplying power/signal to anything else?

Then it is just a matter of disconnecting the coolant hoses for the a/c or is there anything else I need to do to make sure that everything is okay?

I know this isn't in the form of a question but please read this over and tell me if I need to do anything else or if there are easier ways to do this.

Thanks

Chris

lol, i never use it and it barely works, anyways I'm swapping engines this winter and that will be one less thing to get in my way.

I have my windows down when I drive ( I don't think I turned it on at all this summer).

I removed my entire AC system, condesor which is in front of your radiator, evaporator which is in your dash passenger side, I took out the glove box and the plastic panel below it to get it out (if I remember right) you have to open the black plastic box..
all the AC lines,
the compressor is a PITA when doing this on a DA, you have to remove the front beam and the center beam to drop the compressor.. you might be able to take it out the top if you move your P/S pump,(I have never done it this way)..
to remove the receiver drier from what I remember I think it just pulls right up, might have to move the upper part of the washer tank elsewhere..
thats pretty much it you can usually get it all out in about 2 hours in your driveway.

a/c removal

My car has gotten to the point where it's not very practical on the street so a/c isn't very important to me anymore. Plus it's so crowded down there with the turbo, oil line, and downpipe. So I know there's the compressor, condensor, and the lines, but is there anything special required to remove it all? I know it's not quite legal to release frion (spelling) into the atmosphere but...and when you remove the ac from a car do you have to cap off any of the lines you dont take out?or the receiver drier only?thanks

^^you mean illeagal to release freon into the atmosphere right? lol

I removed ac of my brothers car, so i just cut the lines going into the firewall, other than that, remove all a/c related lines.
