A/c Not Working Help!

hey guys i'm new to the forum just gonna say hi before i begin. Anyways i was wondering if someone can help me out wiht my a/c problems. The other day i was driving with my a/c full blast and i noticed it's not that cold. After i realized that my car was leaking, probably a/c coolant. Now my a/c doesnt even turn on. When i press the a/c button in the light doesn't even go on and my a/c doesn't work either. Does anybody know what is happening? I dont know how much about a/c. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the fluid that was leaking is normal when the A/C is on, i'm quite sure. You prolly don't have anymore free-on..
year and kms?

If your AC light doesnt go on, you might wanna chekck your fuse

#13 7.5Amp Rear Window Defrogger, ABS Control, Power Mirror, A/C System

That is for a gen 3 teg.

You have a leak in the system. If you are out of freon, the compressor will not turn on. You need to take the car to a shop, have them do a leak test. They put this green dye into the AC system, and it comes out wherever there is a leak. You will either need to replace the faulty piece, or patch it, and then vacuum out the system, and recharge with freon.

If the AC is working properly, its normal for it it leak water from the dryer. Basically the system de-humidifies the air. Cold air cannot hold as much water vapour as warm air, so as the air gets cooled, the additional moisture has to be removed.

how much does the leak test and gettin all that checke dout usually cost?

That I can't tell you. Every shop will have different labour rates. See if you can find a smaller shop that specializes in AC fixes.

so is it most likely a leak thats causing my problem then?

.. and the blown fuse.. replace the fuse first.. i blew my fuse and the a/c light doesn't turn on now.

ya, check the fuse first, then check for leaks. If A/C still don't turn on, that usually means freon pressure has dropped, so you need to refill. Too little or too much freon will cause A/C to churn out warm air. Most auto A/Cs should have around 30 psi. Just refilled the freon in my dad's car today.

Most shop charges around $70 for refills and leak checks.
