had a similar problem
I cut the head off the stud on the backside of the wheel hub with a torch and pounded the remainder of the stud through with a hammer. Its tight, but possible. |
we had a similar problem when another member platinum playa broke his lock key. he needed them off because he was going to pick up new tires the next day. what we ended up doing, is getting a 17mm socket, put it on an extension, get a propane torch and heat up the socket until it's really hot, then hammered that bitch onto the lock. once it was just on enough not to slip off, we let it cool, slapped a breaker bar into the extension, and it came right off. it's better to ---- up a socket than a wheel stud and after exchange the socket for a new one o_O

another way is to wrap the nut with duct tape, then use a pair of vise grips to twist it off

same ---- happened to me last yr ,i went to a shop around finch and midland and they took off the key lugnuts ..they where charging me 30 but they took 20 :] if u have nice rims id say let the shop take it off
actually i just check the price of gator grip at crappytire website and there selling it for 14.99 so preety cheap , i thought it be around 80-100bucks . |
find a place to torch it. happened to me years ago, torch worked like a charm (messed the rim up a little though)

You could try dremeling gooves in the side of the lock nut and hammer a socket onto it. The only other way I know works is to weld a socket onto it and then turn it off.
