brakes and rotor
I'm changin all my brakes and rotors. I have a 96 GSR. I'm following the team-integra.net guide and they were using some anti brake quite grease.
What do you guys use to grease the pads? Should I be greasing anything else too? Like the 17mm bolts that hold the calipers? I use brake cleaner to clean my new rotors before I put them on that is alright isnt it? |
1.disc brake quiet on the backside of the pads (not the side where it contacts the rotor).
2.blue thread lock on the 17mm caliper bolts. 3.anti-seize on the wheel hub (where it contacts the back of the rotor) 4.anti seize on rotor hub (where it contacts the wheel, before you put the lug nuts back on). good luck! |

(I worked at a honda dealer for a while).. just tighten them it nice and tight though.. PLACES TO LUBE ARE the slider pins- lube the ---- out of them--unbolt the bottom one and rotate the caliper up then push the calpier back to expose the upper pin where pad contacts bracket. backs of pads as for lube types you can go to partsource, napa, carquest, bensons and get break slide, its a synthetic and doesnt squeal if it hits the rotors, unlike that shitty gold antiseize. |
i corrected # 4, i meant the front of the rotor only the hub part where it contacts your wheel, or alternatively you can put anti-seize on the back of your wheels where it contacts the rotor. this is to prevent your wheel from rusting itself to your rotor.
as for # 2, ever seen a caliper come loose because of a loose bolt? i have, not pleasant. it's only those two bolts holding it on. your choice though. you can get all this stuff from crappy tire. by the way heroin is spelt without an "e". |
