Hey guys.

Time to do the brakes. Rotors are gonzo. So I'm most likely going with OEM rotors since my cost for all 4 is $62.00. I was thinking of going aftermarket for pads. I wasnt sure what would match up well.

I have heard that EBC Green Stuff brake pads and EBC Red Stuff brake pads are really good. Any suggestions?

PBR Metal Masters, those are the only ones I can recommend. I don't have experience with anything else.

where are you getting all four oem rotors for 62.00? last time i checked acura, they went crazy on the price of ONE rotor..

Greens are poo IMO. Can't take any heat, poor pedal feel, mildly better than OE. Once they get glazed they're garbage. I'd take OE before the greens any day - more predictable. Hawk HP+s are are a great all around pad with great feel and amazing hot performance for a street pad. Also been experimenting with Project Us semi track pad and man, does it ever grip nice and very low dust. Also just picked up a set of Gransports GS3s to test and am told they're better than HP+s all around just harder on the rotors. HP+ are the best value, I love my Project Us and am anxious to try the Gransports - but you're looking at spending a bit of dough for the latter two.

I've had Hawk HPS's on my car for 3 months and I love them....way more stopping power than the OEM pads and not as much noise and brake dust as the HP+'s....great pad for the street!

Yea EBC Green stuff isn't any good. My firend has it on his GC, he took it for a spiritual run for about 10 mins they began to smoke. He has upgraded rotor and four pistons calibers.

go with axxis ultimate pads........you wont regret them.

My dad is a mechanic. That is his cost since he gets a dealer discount. No b.s here. Acura just rapes you. If you need parts try Cawthra Automotive.

Per rotor.... Theres no way hes getting all four for 62 when retail goes for over 100 each. Acura mechanics doent even get that good of a discount.

Make all the assumptions you want man. That is my cost. I could care less what you think. :jack:

Either the Hawk HPS or Metal Master.

There's tons of Hawk dealers around. Wheel and Tire Zone, Northern Performance, Can-Alignment.......

As for the Axxis/PBR, I think they're cheapest on Ebay.....search Canada only and you'll find a dealer in Toronto...

Call them up and ask to speak to Carl. They're in Quebec but most of the time their shipped price is better than everywhere else. And because they're out of province you don't pay PST. Tell him Miles told you about him and he'll give you the best price. He also has tested more pads than anyone I've ever met. Tell him what you're looking for and trust his recomendation. He's actually recommended products he doesn't even carry to me, so he's a pretty stand up guy.

Just put on my new rotors and Hawk HPS pads. No more squeeling, thank the Lord.

Pads seem pretty responsive so far, similar to OEM but sharper. Thanks for the recommendation guys.

How about you grab a few sets - and charge $124 (even a bit more) for a set (so you can double your money)?

$100/rotor from the dealer??? Crazy...

I paid $250 for a set of cross drilled - I think maybe it was a bit less. I have heard both good and bad about cross drilled rotors - but I have had them for over a year - and I have no issues. I am using them with a set of PBR pads - great combo.

its not that cross drilled are ----, they dont perform better then blanks..hence spending the extra money for nothing. 250 just for rotors *hides under blanket*

I paid $250 for the Brembo cross drilled rotors and the front PBR pads.

This guy in Toronto sells them... (asian guy with a shop near a really nice performance shop)

Here is his ad (from EBAY) - but you can call and pick them up for cash. (no shipping/duties/issues etc...)

NOW $120can for a set of (4) no name - cross drilled rotors... (Buddy with a civic has these - and has had no issues with them)

These were only a few bucks more (the Brembos) and I went with these as the cheaper ones may have been blanks that were drilled out "who knows...."

Pay the $200 for the Brembos, and get a set of these pads. They work well together.

I most recently replaced my master cylinder (pedel was dropping when it was hot out) - picked it up for $110 brand new and got back $30 for my core (C.Tire)

Braking system seems like new - actually even better...

Ya I did several hard stops once installed to "burnish" them. Just as the instructions on the box said.

All i can say is dont go KVR there all ---- the pads and the rotors i hate them and now after driving on them for 3 months there all gone and need all new ones im going with bear its cheep and cross drilled sold as hell
