Brake Lights Dont Work ???

Hey guys major issue with my tails, my brake lights dont work all my bulbs are fine and replaced , the fuse keeps on blowing every time i replace it once i press the brake the fuse blows and also my horn doesnt work due to the fuse ..any ideas what my problem could be ? i have noo idea what the problem is

Check in behind your radio(deck) because there are some sharp metal braces in there that sometimes wires rub against and short out - thats the fuse they usually short. I had it happen to my integra.

when you replace your bulbs make sure you don't pinch a wire. thats is you took out your tails

Had the exact same problem. Physically unhook the horn from behind the bumper and see if the fuse still blows. The horn probably has rusted out connectors. I went to the reckers and bought a used horn and cleaned up all the connectors and the problem went away but check it by unhooking the horn first.

to elaborate on what he said, did you replace your taillights? if so you may have pinched one of the wires causing the short. Use a multimeter to check your connections. Use the Helms manual in the premiere section for the wiring schematics :yeah:

+1 both my pioneer and sony deck shorted because the extension of the aftermarket harnesses would get cut open.

Make sure to trace your steps (note which wires you have checked and not checked) or the electronic gremlins will win. :willy:

Invest in a multimeter, so you don't spend $20 in replacement fuses. Been there, done that. :headbang:

I have an extra set of taillight harnesses if you want it. It's been spliced together, not by me, but you're welcome to have it. I can bring it to tonight's meet but I won't be there until later - around 9-9:30.
