Bore throttle body

Has anyone tried boreing their oem throttle body to fit an aftermarket intake manifold?

There are some machine shops out there that will do this for you...I'm sure it works just as good as any aftermarket tb with the same diameter. But I don't know what the cost difference would be...

you cant bore a thottle body.... you can port match it, but it you make the throttle body diametee larger, the throttle plate wont seal...

Yes, you can bore a throttle body. Installing a larger throttle plate is an obvious necessary part of that process.

then at that point theres no sense it doing it, get a aftermarket one.

Either way, a throttle body nets minimal gains. if your concerned about it matching the port on you i/m then just get the return side ported to match.

Unless you work at a machine shop and parts/machines are free to use, then its not worth it.

actually it does make a difference to have the t/b bored out as long as the intake manifold is port matched and you have some other mods to support the use of extra air flow.

the only guy i know of that does them is gord bush...im sure there may be some one else
that can do it also but he does a pretty good job and his price is reasonable (less than the cost of a new aftermarket unit)

not worth it IMHO, just buy a bigger TB. i got a 70mm with a skunk2 IM to match.

Its hard to say if its worth it or not. Try calling the machine shop and see how much it'll cost.
