B20B setup?

hey wats up everyone i was thinking of a b18c but those type of engine really suck on gas depending so i looked up at a b20b and it has a small amount of hp but that can be fixed and really nice torque so i was wondering if u do a b20b swap what set up would be nice cuz its a CR-V engine right so would be different so im unsure wat to do? like i'm an amature so i have no idea what would be a good set up for a b20b like the tranny and the headers...etc its my first attepmt with an engine swap so i wanna make sure its perfect thanks.

i used to have b20 with ls tranny, dc sports 4-2-1 header and full 3" catback...

a b20 will drop right into a teg. it's pretty much just like your stock b18a but the pistons are 3mm bigger. just make sure you get you get the proper ecu for it or get one and tune it. you can use any b-series tranny on it and any headers that'll fit an LS.

So did I, Its really nice and torqy....You'll rape GSR'S of the line only untill they hit the VTAKE. Gsr's got 128 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 6,200 rpm meanwhile B20B's got 133 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 4,500 rpm.

Plus look at the big picture.

B20B's go for $600-$800
Gsr's go for $2000+

Use the extra cash to get it properly tuned, headers exhaust, nice intake and your good to go.

And ofcoursse you only need 87 Octane for B20 mean while u'll be pumpin 94 in GSR'S

Do this if your gonna go b20b.. get the b20b, swap that, do what buff said and get a proper ecu or chip yours, get a SHORT GEARED tranny (ex. b16/type r), and get a nice set of headers and youll be pretty damn quick with stock motor.

alright cool thanks for all your help although i think pumping 94 octane is better for any engine no matter wat is it right? and in toronto their like streets lights and stop signs everywhere so speed isnt the key lol i guess after engine swap i would get some nice set of coilovers and thats basically it.

What about a B20z?.....Don't know how rare they are but it might be worth looking into....not sure what power/hp gains over a B20B.

actually you put the octane that your engine has been setup for, the higher the octane the slower the burn, if you want to feel cool with putting higher octane in your car which is essentially stock go ahead your wasting money and also you would have to advance your timing so it will burn properly.

I have a B20 swap, what do you guys mean by proper ecu, i had mine chipped but the program was from before i did auto to stick swap. It runs good but there is a weird idle. The torque is great.
