B18C1 OBD1 or OBD2?

How do you tell if a B18C1 Vtec Engine is OBD1 or OBD2? Isnt the distributor a different design?

yup the dizzy is different...also for a quick reference look at the oxygen sensor. see hoe many wires are coming from it

any way of telling what year of car it came from...the distributors are different. The best way to find out would be to know the year of the car that it came from. Other then that I can't remember on the top of my head the differences. I think OBD II have 1 or 2 more sensors then the OBD I

obd 1 uses a 2 connector dizzy and the injectors use the plug with a wire clip and obd 2 uses a 1 connector dizzy and a all plastic connector also obd1 uses 1 o2 sensor before the cat

nizmo 11-20-2010 09:44 PM

no not all b18b's are obd1....pre 96 tegs are obd1 i think and after is obd2.

a 90teg came with a b18a. could have been swapped out tho
