B18B1 turbo? help/ questions

Ok here it goes I just got a B18B1 motor, and starting to rebuild it got it all apart.

cleaning it all up, and getting my self all new gaskets and seals,
Reserfaced and acid tanked,

I but before i get it all back and start putting it toughter, I thought maybe do some little addones to it just for a bit more power

some friends are telling me to Go Turbo.

Dont know to much about the B18B1 motor so can any one help me out.

How safe is it for Turbo and if so how much can it handel before Fuel system upgrades.

and if i was to go turbo anything i should do to the motor while its apart. to help it.

Just do remember that i anit rich dont have money for going all out

If you decide to go turbo, look into everything thats involved. Your motor, once back together should hold out at 8 psi fine. BUT you will need alot more then just a turbo and a manifold. Injectors, fuel pump, programming the ecu, ect. Its not cheap. You can go cheap and just through one on but its not going to last. I would recommend upgrading your fuel pump. If your stock pump fails while in boost and you run lean, your motor could or probably will blow. Unless you pick up a wideband, but those are not cheap either.
Turbos set-ups arent cheap. If I were you, and the motor is completely dissassembled, consider ls/vtec. Will be cheaper in the long run.
Just remember that wherever you cheap out on a motor, it will be less and less reliable. Do it right the first time. If it means saving up more money and holding off for a couple of weeks, do so. You wont regret it in the long run.

anything else you would recommand to do then other then turbo to get it to run a bit stronger looking for about 200-220 HP

With ls/vtec you could achieve those numbers with ease. Google ls/vtec and take a look.

any chance you can tell me how much power it would give say LS block GSR HEAD

A friend of mind has a b18 block, gsr pistons, b16 2nd gen vtec head and is around 210 h.p.

g2tegg is right. Going turbo won't be cheap, but I feel that in the long run, there is more potential. I'm currently running a stock JDM B18B boosted to 10psi with a T3/T04 turbo. It's making 281whp / 234wtq. This is of course with injectors, fuel pump upgrade as well as dynoed tuned.

Here's my dyno FYI.

Do some research on Honda-Tech and you should be able to find more info to help you decide which route to take.

I don't think i would associate 220whp and NA with "ease". in order for him to attain those kinds of wheel hp, your looking at higher compression, LS/VTEC kit, rods, cams, retainers, springs and the right header and exhaust to match; not to mension a very good tune and only running 94 octane whereas:

he can buy a greddy turbo kit and basically slap on 220whp and has the potential of making alot more. either way, he's going to have to change out injectors and fuel components to reach that goal.

ls vtec 220 with ease? LOLZ

Nice dyno, and very good power for 10 psi, you basically picked up 150whp over stock. That thing must boogie, I would guess its good for 12.9 or so on DR's
